It was summer, in the month of August. By nature, August is more generous. Fate brought me to Apostolis. He was a street vendor.
Seated on the beach, he displayed his jewelry to whoever wanted to admire them. We introduced ourselves and started chatting. Time passed and I left him holding a raw aluminium rod. My new friend had offered it to me to express myself, create, mold it, shape it and give it a new life.
This encounter opened up new paths for me, unlocked my creative ideas and instilled to me the courage to follow my vision. A year later, on the 1st of August 2023, “aer” was born in Mykonos, the Island of the Winds.

The air that touches us, invigorates us, frees us. But mainly, the air that brings us closer. Every one of the rods is molded to hug each person’s body.

Ήταν καλοκαίρι, Αύγουστος, από την φύση του ο Iκαριώτικος Αύγουστος είναι γενναιόδωρος. Η μοίρα με έβγαλε μπροστά στον Αποστόλη. Ήταν πλανόδιος. Kαθισμένος στην παραλία με τα κοσμήματα του εκτεθειμένα, σε όποιον θέλει να τα δει. Γνωριστήκαμε και πιάσαμε την κουβέντα. Η ώρα κύλησε και στο τέλος έφυγα κρατώντας στα χέρια μια ακατέργαστη βέργα αλουμινίου.
Μου την δώρισε ο νέος μου φίλος για να εκφραστώ, να δημιουργήσω, να πλάσω, να σχηματίσω, να δώσω ζωή.
Τότε ξεκίνησαν όλα. Έχοντας την ανάμνηση ζωντανή σαν μικρό παιδί, δημιούργησα το πρώτο μου “κύμα” σαν αυτό που σχηματίζει ο απαλός αέρας πάνω στο νερό της θάλασσας, σαν αυτό που παίρνει μορφή πάνω στα άγρια βράχια. Ο Αποστόλης δεν είναι ένας πλανόδιος πια! Είναι η έμπνευση και η δημιουργία του δικού μου αέρα.
Η συνάντηση αυτή άνοιξε νέους δρόμους, ξεκλείδωσε δημιουργικές ιδέες και μου έδωσε θάρρος να ακολουθήσω το όραμα μου.
Ένα χρόνο μετά, 1η Αυγούστου, το “aήρ” γεννήθηκε στην Μύκονο, το νησί των ανέμων.
aήr — όπως αέρας
Ο αέρας που μας αγγίζει, που μας ανανεώνει, που μας απελευθερώνει, μα κυρίως που μας φέρνει κοντά. Kάθε βέργα πλάθεται και αγκαλιάζει το σώμα του καθενός ξεχωριστά.
